Here's how to submit an Event

Events on The Plan are 89% more likely to end up in the mom group chat on Thursday afternoons. (Right?)

Weekend event roundups are sent every week to hundreds of local parents. If you want to submit an event for consideration in The Plan’s weekend roundup emails, here’s what you should know.

It must be a weekend event.

Right now I’m just including fun weekend things that kids can do with a family member or caregiver.

I know there are so many options for drop-off extracurriculars (sports clinics, art studios, cooking courses, etc.), summer camps, and trips/school-break camps organized by town parks departments. Not to mention weekday library story-times and mommy & me classes. Keeping up with all of this would be a beast.

This is not to say I won’t eventually offer helpful guides in the future—as I KNOW so many of you would love it—but for now, I’m just including weekend events to do with the kids.

You have to submit no later than Monday night.

Premium subscribers get the weekend roundup every Tuesday, so submit your event no later than Monday night to be considered. (Free subscribers get it on Thursdays.)

It has to be kid-friendly.

Of course, every parent’s definition of “kid-friendly” varies widely, so just be up front with me. (e.g., if there’s a strict 21+ age requirement, or a live theater production is not suitable for audiences younger than 18, etc.)

It’s got to be close by (or worth the trip).

The Plan focuses on the hamlets of Vista, Lewisboro, and South Salem, as well as North Salem. I also include must-gos in our favorite CT towns like Ridgefield, New Canaan and Westport. I also cover lots of events in Katonah, Mount Kisco and Bedford, and occasionally I'll throw in some must-see things in the river towns like Tarrytown or Sleepy Hollow (if it’s worth a drive or day-trip). If you live in a far-away Westchester town like Yonkers or Mamaroneck, you probably won’t find much on here.

And that’s it! Looking forward to hearing from you. ☺️
