Book a sitter and check out one of these gems. You really can't go wrong.

A few years ago, my husband suggested something radical: A date night every week. I was sure it couldn’t happen.
“But it’s going to be so hard to find a sitter who can put the girls to bed.”
We now have several lovely sitters who can, in fact, get our kids to sleep at a reasonable hour. Don’t give up if you hire a dud; it takes time to find a roster of great caregivers.
“Is this really what we want to spend our money on?”
Yes, it can absolutely become a line item on the budget. But we view it as an essential expense.
“But won't we be exhausted the next day?”
Yes, which is why we like to go out for an early dinner and have the sitter handle the whole nighttime routine for our girls. (I hate the thought of paying someone to just sit on my couch for 3 hours). Plus, an early dinner time means we hardly ever have trouble getting a reservation. 👵
We sometimes go to Westport because it’s close by, yet feels like you’re actually getting out of town. And if you get there early, you can browse for an hour on Main Street before grabbing dinner. (Anthropologie is open late!)
So here’s my unofficial list, in no particular order.
Kawa Ni
19A Bridge Square, Westport
Hands down, our favorite restaurant. Just get a bunch of apps so you can try everything. We love the salmon temaki, addictive cabbage salad, and any of the 3 dumplings. Split the cold sesame noodles with shrimp or one of the rice bowls like the crab fried rice. Sake it Tumi is my go-to cocktail. Oh, and walk over to MOMU Ice Cream afterwards for the most delicious ice cream ever! »
