What's The Plan: MAY 23-25
Food Truck Friday in Lewisboro, Alex Cano at Hardscrabble, TaSH kicks off, Compo Beach opens, free admission at Rye Playland, Jaws at Bedford Playhouse, and more!

Welcome to the weekend roundup. Buckle up, guys and gals. It’s a long one.
First things first, is anyone going to see Alanis and Blippy on Saturday? I wish nothing but the best for them both.
By press time, I could not confirm who won the battle of the bands last week at Pound Ridge’s first Food Truck Friday. Get in touch if you know. Meantime, enjoy this video of this kid from School of Rock Bedford belting out Pat Benetar. She absolutely killed it.
One more item to add to my Memorial Day what-should-I-bring-to-the-BBQ recs: I gave this NYT potato salad recipe a whirl at our first patio BBQ of the season and can confirm it’s delish. Mint! Scallions! Lemon! Who would have thought?
I’ve been on a protein ball kick lately and can confirm that The Farmer’s Grind in South Salem carries the best ones around. My kids love them, too. (Also, stop putting protein in potato chips and Pop Tarts).
Some quick hits: Go see Alex Cano on Friday night at Hardscrabble. Make a trip to New Canaan to grab some bagels from the newly-opened Badass Bagels (5 Burtis Ave.), and if you’re planning on taking the kids to see the new Lilo & Stitch (why are we re-making movies from 2002 already?), I recommend The New Canaan Playhouse Theater right on Elm St. This week they announced a partnership with Blackbird, which means you grab some bougie food & drinks before or after the show. Also, I can’t wait for Wogies to open in Katonah. 🍔
Each week, I’ll pick an event that may not have a huge promotion budget but I think is worth highlighting. This week, the Plan of the Week goes to opening day of the Lewisboro Town Pool.
I just love it there. Do the pool bathhouses look like they’re straight out of the 80s? Yes. (But that’ll change next summer, woo!) The shallow kiddie pool is perfect for making friends with local parents, my kids love the water slide, and the concession stand food by Lily’s Deli is great in a pinch if you don’t feel like leaving at dinnertime.
We get a pool pass every year, but you can gain free entry on opening day if you’re a town or KLSD resident. The water will be freezing cold, but who cares. I’ll be singing Opening Night all morning just to annoy my kids.
Thanks to all the subscribers who signed up last week, including Cory S., Christina B., Arela M., Fumi S., Dana R., Karlee A., Corrin A., Julia T., Tersey R., Sandra P., Diane H., Michele P., Kathy L., Jamie C., Raquel C., Sam Z., and Jessica T. I really appreciate your support. 🫶

PPPS: I’m moving the “What’s Coming Up” column to a standalone micro-newsletter for paid subscribers every Friday. Each week, I’ll pick a handful of events coming up in The Plan calendar that you’ll need to plan ahead for. Hopefully it’ll be a great resource to you as you plan your weekends.
