It was such a delight to see your friendship literally growing during this discussion about friendship! I love that you are spotlighting this- I think for so many of us parents, we overlook our own desire to have friends and it gets pushed to the back burner. So great to put some intention behind it. Also- I agree with Deanna about those terms! I also love love loooooved “cognitive offloading” yes please! That is so good. Thank you for putting this together, and for your generous sharing.

So true about sometimes overlooking our own needs for friendship. We teach our kids how to navigate this; it’s time we take our own advice. Thanks, friend!

Aren't those such great concepts? I seriously learned so much from this collaboration. So glad you enjoyed, Deanna. I also loved the part about scenario planning *ahead* of time so that you can predict the opportunities to still keep the lines open for a potential connection.

I remember doing kind of planning in the workplace, so it makes total sense to apply this to the very real work of making (and maintaining) friendships as a parent (where Murphy's Law is a constant. 🙃)
